Hipster: A person who follows the latest fashions, especially those regarded as being outside the cultural mainstream.
The reason I chose this sub culture is because, today in this generation Hipsters are all over the country. They have made their mark on songs, fashion styles, stores, and even the people of this nation. Hipsters date back to the 1940's during WWII, except they were referred to as "Hepcats". Much like the Hipsters of today they wore the same style of clothing, listen to the same music, used slang, smoked cannabis and abused other drugs, had a very relaxed attitude, had a sarcastic humor, and even cause self-imposed poverty. Some fashion examples are: Ray Bans, uggs, Holister, plaid, crop tops, cardigans, beanies, bomber jackets, skin tight jeans, tribal print, shirts with quotes/ sayings, snapbacks, headphones on your shoulders, and urban outfitters. Some Celebrity hipsters include: Kristen Stewart, Vanessa Hudgens, Hayden Panttiere, Zac Efron, Kellan Lutz, Beyonce, John Mayer, Kelly Osborn, Katy Perry, and Zoeey Deschanel. Some Pictures : The family on my mothers side immigrated from Poland in the 50's to find Economic opportunities. After my family passed through Ellis Island, they traveled to Illinois and found jobs. My grandmother,or Mimi, as I called her, met my grandfather in her late teens, and had my mother in her early 20's. Starting my family line.
Economics: How people chose to use resources and the ways in which governments, businesses, societies, and individuals distribute and consume human capital, physical capital and natural resources.
All throughout my life economics has had a HUGE impact on not only my family but also on me. The rate of employment throughout the years has fluctuated, gas prices raising and people are wondering why. Everything is more expensive than it was years ago, making it hard for families to get things we need, like my braces. Q;Did everyone in our family keep our religion, values and traditions?
A; Not everyone in our family kept their traditions, but some did. We kept some simple traditions handed down from my mothers side of the family; like baking Kolachki's every Christmas, and making pierogies from scratch. Q;Where did our family originate from? A;My father told me most of the family on his side originated from central France. Q;Did you grow up speaking more than one language? A; My father used to be able to speak French fluently, because he lived in France for a while as a child. Q;How do your roots affect what our family does? A; My father lived around the world, because of this we eat a lot of ethnic foods that most kids my age don't eat. Q;Who was your inspiration growing up? A;My mothers inspiration growing up were her parents, her father was in the military and her mother died from cancer when she was young. I grew up in a very small town that doesn't have many people in it. This had a pretty big impact on me growing up, because within a few years I grew to know most of the people in our little town. This meant that I knew lots of the kids my age, the kids who I grew up with and now know very well. Our little town is part of the suburbs of a pretty major city in my state, but growing up 45 minutes away from the city was really great because I got to see all of the museums , beautiful street art and skyscrapers. Being close to the city also meant that I got to see first-hand how many different type of races and religions that are in my state. And these are the geographical things that mostly affected my life.
