Why isn't the U.S. part of this diagram? Does the U.S. become part of this diagram at some point? When? Why do they join?
In class we where asked to look up subcultures and pick one to learn. I picked Surf Culture because I am currently reading a book that has surfing in it and one of my favorite movies is "Soul Surfer". One last reason I picked it is because I want to learn to surf too! The definition of Surf Culture is..."Surf Culture is the pop culture that includes people, language, fashion and lifestyle surrounding the sport of surfing. The history of surfing began with the ancient Polynesians." from Wikipedia Surfing was developed by Polynesians. They then moved to Hawaii and brought the sport with them. It is one of the oldest practiced sports. Brands that are now in existent and are popular are, Hurley, Billabong, Oneil, and Quiksilver. Famous surfers from then and now are "The Duke", Greg "Da Bull" Noll, Tom Curren, Mark Richards, Tom Carroll, Gerry Lopez, Kelly Slater, Andy Irons, Shawn Tomson, Laird Hamilton(not related to Bethany Hamilton). Bethany Hamilton is a famous surfer who survived a shark attack in 2003. The shark bit off her left arm. Now Bethany Hamilton is unstoppable. Winning Surf N Sea Pipeline Women's Pro Competition in 2014, and many more competitions. Also she was recently on Amazing Race with her husband Adam Dirks. They came in 3rd place. Bethany is unbelievable. She didn't let that shark stop her from doing what she loves. Bethany Hamilton Kelly Slater Ellis Island

Until next time my friends, Bye! Rachel The definition of economics is "How people choose to use resources and the ways in which governments, businesses, societies, and individuals distribute and consume human capital, physical capital, and natural resources."
Most of my family has jobs except my grandparents and my aunt is a "stay at home moms." My mom once worked at an office then she switched to be a "stay at home mom" Now she works at our church in Adult Ministries. My dad works at Kirkland and Ellis. My Mom's Dad worked as a clown and he also used to work in an office before he retired. My Grandma worked at a school for deaf children. She is also deaf so she really enjoyed it. My Mom's brother works in a lad close by my house. His wife is a "stay at home mom". My Dad's sister works at an office and her husband works at a car repair shop. My cousin on my dad's side works at a hair place and as a bartender. Her sister works with make-up and travels and around the country to do make-up for special events. As you can see my family has a lot of jobs. Even my sixteen year old cousin got a job when he was fifteen which was to referee soccer games. When I'm older I'm still not sure what I want to be. When I am sixteen I was thinking working at Paws and Paradise. Which is a place where you can board your dog for when your out of town. For a job when I'm older in my twenties. I'm leaning torward an event planner. I hope you all enjoyed learning about the economics in my life. Until next time my friends! Bye! -Rachel I have started to wonder about things from my family.

That's some information about me and my family. I hope you enjoyed! Until next time! Bye! Rachel Let's start on my dad's side. My dad had a mother and a father. Sadly they both died before I was born. Yes I miss then and wonder what traits I got from them and what they where like. My grandma died first on October, 29, 1978. Her birthday was November 7, 1941. My grandpa died on June 6, 1987. His birthday was November 18, 1939. The house I live in now is actually the house my dad grew up in. Once his parents died he never moved. My dad has one sister and that was his only sibling. I am most like my dad and I am like my aunt too. From my dad's side I am Polish and that is all I know.
From my mom's side I know that I am Swedish from my grandpa who we call "Poppy". I am Scottish from my grandma's side. My mom's parents are still alive. My grandma's mom died last April. I went and saw her and that night after I left she passed away silently in her sleep. I am grateful for seeing her in her last few hours. My mom has one older brother. He got married and had five kids. There are two sets of twins in the family. Two boys who are two years older than me. One boy who is one month younger than me, and two girls who are 3 years younger than me. My birthday is October 12, 2000. I was born at 11:55 pm. I was only 5 minutes away from being born on Friday the 13. That's a little scary! My friend and I where supposed to be born on the same day but I came early and he came late. His birthday is October 20, 2000. When I came home from Edwards Hospital it was my dad's birthday. October 14. In my immediate family is my mom and dad. I have a little sister who is in 5th grade. I also have a dog named Buddy. He is a foxhound mix and I believe he is 6 years old. We have never moved. We are Christians and that plays a huge role in my life. Church is basically my second home since I'm there on Wednesday's because I am an AWANA leader. Thursday's for youth group. Also Sunday's for church. Sometimes I'm there for Saturday's and Sunday's when I'm stagehand. I was dedicated on March 4, 2001. I accepted Christ on March 23, 2008 during children's church. I was baptized on October 7, 2012 with my mom. There are still many things that I don't know about my family and I have tons of questions to ask them. For example one is "What are some traits that I got from my dad's parents?" Until next time my friends! Bye! Rachel Hello! Welcome to my blog!
