The picture below is showing my MAIN cause, which is imperialism because it is showing a man from England with many arms and hands taking over many lands/islands/countries like Egypt, Canada etc. I know this because in the picture below, the places England is taking over have been marked with the name of the country/land/island. It also shows how England is getting control over all these lands, the octopus wants to control the countries so they join him. Finally, imperialism means when a country extends its power, and that is what the octopus is showing us.
The difference between, aid, a treaty, and an alliance, is that they were used differently in world war one. Some were more important so they were used more than the others, if you look at the diagram there is more green, than peach and yellow. But they also have different meaning, an alliance means: that if someone does something to a person or to your country, you will go after them because that person or country means a lot to you. While aid means to help or support another country, and treaty means to have an agreement with other countries/country. According to the diagram green represents alliance, so that means that in world war one supporting one another was really major; while having agreements with other countries was really rare. The U.S isn't part of the diagram because they weren't part of the war yet, with that said the U.S eventually does become part of the diagram. They get involved in war in 1917 when president Wilson and congress declare war to Germany, they start declaring more war with other countries later on.
The definition of you tubers is: "they are nothing without their loyal fans. To this day, these creators put themselves out there constantly producing videos week after week to entertain fans around the world!" We decided that learning about you tubers was a fun topic to learn about because, you tube channels can be inspirational and fun. But you tube at points could be harmful, but other than that its a great entertaining website to go to. You tube was found in February 14,2005. The first you tube channel to reach millions of people was Smosh. One of the famous you tubers today is PewDiePie. A notable name of a you tuber is Cameron Dallas. This you tube video is about a you tuber who weekly uploads different videos "Weekly Chris": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KeXbcOZ9gRE After doing the immigration activity in class I learned many things I didn't know, for example I never knew that New York had the Ellis Island; just like the Angel Island I never knew it was located in San Fransisco. This is because I had never heard of these islands before, what surprised the most is that they have differences. These islands are basically the same thing other than they are located in different places, but they were built differently; since the Angel Island was built in San Fransisco's Bay, they made it look more like mountain building. While Ellis Island is more of a castle, also according to the stories in www.scholastic.com another difference between these island was that in Ellis Island, between 1820-1969 most people immigrated from Europe. But in the years of 1970-2010 it was people from North and South America, in Angel Island it was mainly Chinese people. What I still want to learn that I haven't is, approximately how many people passed immigration through Ellis Island? In http://www.history.com/topics/ellis-island it stated, "Approximately 80 percent successfully passed through in a matter of hours, but others could be detained for days or weeks." What I want to know about Angel Island is, what year did the first Chinese person arrive to america? In angelisland.org/history/united-states-immigration-station-usis it said, "The first Chinese entered California in 1848."
The definition of civics is, an active participation within societies, schools, neighborhoods, classrooms, groups, and/or organizations. Some of the key words to civics are, society, choices, actions, and voting etc. When I was in 6th grade I went into a gymnastics club, it really helped me build up my flexibility and tumbling skills. After the season was over I dropped out simply because my teacher was not the best teacher, but it shaped who I am now because I love cheer. After that rough season with my group, I learned that cheer was my passion, and that I will forever enjoy doing it. It turned out, after I dropped out I stopped practicing and I lost my flexibility, but today I keep practicing and hope to make it into the cheer team in high school. On October of 2014, I decided to join modeling class to improve my shyness. This isn't only a class to help us girls but help the St. Dominic Church, while doing small events we raise money for the church. My biggest impact was on November 15, 2014, that day I had a pageant and there was so much preparation needed; then came all these butterflies to talk in front of a large crowd. That day the judges decided that this time they will crown the four girls who raised the most money and brought sponsors in. I didn't bring enough in so I didn't get a title, but it shapes who I am today willing to go do it again. I learned that just because your performance was the best of all, that won't mean you will win; I am willing to do it again, to stop being shy and hopefully bring a crown home. I also learned that all that matter is that your whole family is there to support you, without them I would have not made it through talking in front of others.
Mom- "You were named after what name your dad liked."
Mom/Dad- "We would also go to this carnival type of place, with funnel cakes, and rides. Almost like the jubilee here, but over there its depending when they want to put it up."
When you hear the word geography, its basically having to do with locations, climates, region etc. This hasn't impacted my life so much because I lived in the same community for my whole life; but I traveled to two other places. Which are California and Mexico, I go to Mexico every year because my mom left her parents to come live with my dad in Illinois. After going there I learned about my culture, my religion, what Mexicans eat, as well as what my own blood grew up like. My family from both my dad side, and mom side, grew up in Mexico. The majority still lives there but some live in Illinois and in California. That's why I visit those two places the most, although my family likes to experience new places, we plan to visit Florida some day too. This has shaped part of me because I learned about family and found some things in common, like I love traveling to other states or countries; to be honest I love Mexico more than here. I cry when I leave Mexico to come back to the United States, I know my family does too, simply because over there my whole family is there. My family is all about sticking together and having reunions/parties. Also where my parents grew up and where born, really impacted me because I love the Hispanic food and the way the store look like to shop; the beach is the best thing ever. I could literally live there for ever, swimming is what I like to do, hiking and camping has never been my thing. But I know the United States serves a better life, so thats why I live in Illinois today. The club i'm currently in is modeling, we do this supporting a BolingBrook church and this shaped who I am right at this moment because I had a pageant and I talked loud a clear. I didn't mess up at all, but I did not win at all; I didn't really care because my family and friends were happy with what I did since I was new to this. But i'm proud of myself because I want to be more outgoing and social, and so far modeling is really helping me. This BolingBrook club has also shaped me because my mom was also a model when a young-adult, and she won multiple times. Oh and I was born in Edward Hospital. This hasn't shaped a lot of me because I don't live in Naperville. A tradition my family does is go to Great America every summer, this impacts who I am now adventurous and willing to experience new things. This a little bit about my geography life. This is a picture of the day of the pageant. Im on the left corner, a little bit cropped out, but this was in BolingBrook. The lady in the middle is model at chicago, she really impacted my life because she gave me the strength to to model in front of everyone. Hey guys!
