Alliance- This is the strongest relationship countries can have it ensures one another that if a country goes to war its ally will go to war with them.

When the war escalated in 1917, the central powers joined in on the war. The U.S. was part of the central powers so they joined along with Great Britain, France, Russia, Italy and Japan.
