After learning about Ellis and Angel island I felt so bad for those immigrants. I especially agree with "America Beckons and Americans Repel" it was so true and still kinda true today. It really shocked me that they couldn't treat them nicely. However I do wonder how the it felt seeing the Statue of Liberty to possibly being sent home. Also I wonder how they were treated by their town if they were sent back. I did find out though that they were even treated bad on the boat because of Seymour's story.
Civics: Active participation within societies, schools, neighborhoods, classrooms, groups, and/or organizations.
Key Words: voting, politics, government, society, choices, expressing views on issues, action, ideals, citizenship, liberty, participation ( on Jury) This lens didn't start to go along with my life until I was about seven years old. That was when I was old enough to be in my student council at my school. If I had never been in student council then I wouldn't be an Officer now, and that is a terrible thought for me. Also when I was about nine I had this Mail system in my school and if you wanted to be apart of it you had to interview. That taught me about interviews and prepared me for my life. Now I'm a Student council Officer and apart of NJHS, and with that I have found out that I love helping and being a part of my community. Level 1 questions:
1.What was your first job? Mom: McDonalds, Dad: Bustboy/Dominicks 2.Who are my Great Grandparents? Jaqueline Deal + John Deal and Darlene Koenig and N/A 3. Why did you name me what you did? I am a Jr. so I was named after my dad. Level 2 question: 1.What hospital were you born in? Lutheran General 2.Where did our family name come from? Our ancestors from Germany 3.Who was your inspiration growing up Mom: Mom and Sister, Dad: N/A All of this has taken an affect in my life. For example my mom was super close to her mom, so later in her life she lived with my mom and our family and I lived with her all my life. Also because I'm a Jr. I'm close to my dad and I like to hangout with him. |
