Last week we herd 2 stories by both of our S.S. teachers. I had to cover the topic about civics, this is what I learned. First, civics is the participation within societies, schools, neighborhoods, classrooms, groups, etc. An example of civics within my life was when I participated within the neighborhood baseball program I played baseball for about 8 years, I mainly played catcher, first base, and left fielder. Those years of baseball gave me my love I have today for sports! I was also elected by the coaches to 2 All-Star Games! Also I was on student council in 3rd grade, We set up fundraisers, book sales, etc. This gave me participation within my school and showed me how to be active within community and many other places. Another example is my parents don't vote, so this has given me many different view points on voting for the president, mayor, etc. this is what i have learned from my family.

I like the detail you used to explain civics and how you relate to it.

You've done a pretty nice job with the Civics aspect, which is hard for an 8th grader. I like how you not only stated different things about your life, but how you've EXPLAINED them and told us how they've made you into the person you are. Keep up the good work :-)

I like how you showed how one thing led to another and how eventually shaped how you are today thanks to civics. Have civics had a negative place in your life?
