History. Acquiring knowledge about significant events and individual developments over time; investigations about the past and its legacy. Everyone has a little bit of history, some more than others. If I ever had to decide which of the four lens (Civics, Economics, History and Geography) captured my life the best, history would be my choice. Although I have tons of examples of history, I'll spare you my whole life story and just say the major events that have occurred.
To begin, I was born on November 14th, 2000 in Edwards Hospital, Naperville Illinois. I am the youngest of five children. Four girls, and one boy. Names going oldest to youngest are Shannon, Ashley, Ryan, Kacey, and me, Kaitlyn. All five of us have origins from France, Ireland, Scandinavia, Germany, Italy, and Canada. I am also aware that there are probably plenty of other of my ancestors that are from other places, though I don't know where at the moment. With all of these origins, come lots of traditions. For instance, my Grandmother on my mother's side had taught us a homemade Italian recipe for pasta that has been passed down for generations.
My Grandfather (mother's side), Kenneth Napeionello, was adopted at an early age, by some Italians. We don't know a lot about his biological family, though his adoptive ones made sure to make him feel at home. In his youth, he worked at a family-run restaurant, and later as a police officer. He later married my Grandmother (mother's side) Patricia Napeionello, and they have lived happily together of 64 years. Together, they had four children: David, Kenny, Tony, and my mother, Karen.
I didn't know much about my Grandfather on my father's side, since he died when I was only four years old, though I remember how he was a funny guy. His parents, who I can only assume to be pretty comedic, named him Henry Ford. He came to marry my Grandmother, Agnes Ford, and had five kids: my two uncles, my two aunts, and my father.
Eventually, everything set into place to the point where I came along, and still our family continues to grow!
