Economics- "How people choose to use resources and the ways in which governments, businesses, societies, and individuals distribute (give out) and consume (use) human capital, physical capital, and natural resources."
My Dad has always referred to my family as "high middle class" meaning that even though we're not rich, we have "extra" money to spare. My Dad's job has always been the one that payed the bills. He always had the same job. Until I was 11, my Mom was a stay-at-home mom. Then when I was in the 5th grade she got a small part-time job. That money is the "extra" money; its the money we spend at the mall on unnecessary things and stuff like that. Items we want more then need.
My family has always been grateful that this money allows us to travel. I have been to Disney World 4 times, and this past summer my family and I went to Hawaii. I have also been to Florida in general, and Arizona to visit family.
This shaped who I am today because I have seen other places besides Chicago. My Yaya lives in Indiana and the only places she's been is here and there. She never had enough money to see the world. This affects me because it makes me appreciate where I've been. That even something as simple as visiting family makes me thankful.
