Civics is one of the lenses that we are learning about in social studies. Civics means active participation within societies, schools, neighborhoods, classrooms, groups, and organizations. Civics is a part of every ones life. In my life civics plays a role by me playing soccer, going to re and being religious, and doing service projects in the community. I started playing soccer since I was 11. I never participated in anything so my mom signed me up for soccer and since then soccer is more than a sport to me. I've played soccer since then. Also I tried out for my schools soccer team and I didn't make it but i'm going to keep trying. My family is religious we go to church every sunday and me and my sister have gone to re since we were little. Re is church school that we go to at least once a week. Well you might be wondering how that has shaped who I am today, it shaped me and who I am because me going to re and being religious led me to start doing service projects for my community. To get confirmed I have to do 5 services for my community. So i have to do something without getting payed. I've done some of those and I really like doing them. I am getting confirmed in the summer and I still have to do more services but after I get confirmed I think that i'm going to keep doing them because I like to do them and it helps people. That's how the civics lense plays a role in my life.
