Economics has always been a huge part of my family, and myself. My family is known for always planning ahead, and setting goals for ourselves. I, myself am pretty good at finding ways to make money, whether it's chores, making meaningless bets, or even just selling things. I always find a way to make money. Right now I am only 13 years old, so I am not legally old enough yet to get a job, and this annoys me so much. I like the feeling of being able to make my own money instead of having to constantly have to ask my parents. I believe I got this trait from my father. As a child my father was an expert on saving money and preparing for his future, thing ahead... etc. My father had become an entrepreneur at age 12! He would sell homemade freeze-pops outside his house for a quarter every summer, and cut grass until he was old enough to get a job. Although what was different about my father as a kid was that he didn't spend his money on small toys, and candy. Instead he kept it all under his mattress until he was old enough to have a bank account. Once he finally open an account he was already well into his thousands in savings! That is why my father has always pushed me into preparing about my future, and not just thinking about what I want now. Because of this I am a VERY competitive person. Whenever my school would have a fundraiser at elementary school they always had it so the class with the most money would get some sort of prize. I was that one kid that would go super OVERBOARD and collect hundreds of dollars in donations just to insure that she would win. I was that kid. Overall I am so incredibly grateful to have been fortunate enough to have a person in my life to ensure that I start thinking about my future at a young age so I can better myself as an adult. Now you know how Economics impacts me in my life and as a person. Thanks for reading! :)
