The answer to "Do you have any ancestors who came to America through Ellis Island?" is yes I do. My ancestor Karl Ronn, came to the US on a boat from Hoganas, Sweden. He was about 19 years old when he came to the US on the Carmania to work and send money over to his family in Sweden. He arrived on Ellis island and was examined closely like the other immigrants were and was let into America. He planned to go back after a few years after he made enough money but when he was ready to leave the great depression hit the US and he never made it back to his family in Sweden. During this time he moved to Illinois and got a job there and met his wife Alice. If my great grandpa hadn't come to the US he would have never met my great grandma which means that my grandma and my mom would never have been born and neither would I. He also brought with him some values that have been passed down through the years.
